  • ‍By hiring a vessel from WA Coast Boat Hire, you agree to comply with all terms and conditions outlined below. These policies are designed to ensure safety, clarity, and a great experience for all customers. ‍

    Vessel Inductions and safety‍ ‍

    1)      Hirer must be a minimum of 25 years old and hold a valid WA Recreational Skipper’s Ticket (RST) or approved equivalent license

    2)      Hirer must have sufficient boating experience to safely operate the vessel. The owner may refuse hire if competency is not demonstrated.‍ ‍

    3)      Hirers vehicle must meet 3500kg towing capacity

    4)      Ensure the “**” app is downloaded to enable hydraulic breaks unless fitted with hydraulic break assist adaptor.

    5)      Watch an Operation and Safety Boating Instructional Video before hire.‍‍ ‍

    Recreational Activities and loss of personal items

    1)      Activities such as fishing, water skiing, wakeboarding, diving, snorkeling, towing ski biscuits, and similar are at your own risk.

    2)      WA Coast Boat Hire accepts no responsibility for injury or accidents during these activities.

    3)      When the vessel is unattended, hirer must secure hatches and lock compartments. Insurance only covers theft with evidence of violent & forcible entry.

    4)      WA Coast Boat Hire accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to any personal belongings brought onboard the vessel during the hire period.

    5)      Hirers are advised to secure valuables and ensure items are stored safely. Any items left on the vessel after hire will be disposed of if not claimed within 7 days. ‍

    Weather Policy‍ ‍

    1)      Our bad weather policy applies only within our service area (Yanchep to Fremantle).

    2)      Maximum of 20 kms/ hr (10 knots) Wind speeds and 2.5m swell according to local weather websites www.bom.gov.au & www.seabreeze.com.au

    3)      If conditions make it unsafe to proceed within this area, a credit will be issued. If you take the vessel outside our service area, this is at your own risk.

    4)      No refund/credit will be given if your chosen destination is unsuitable but alternatives exist within our service zone.

    Navigation

    1)      The vessel may operate up to 30 nautical miles offshore only where this is consistent with the Geographic Limits shown on the Owner’s Certificate of Insurance. All operation outside these limits is strictly prohibited and may void security deposit.

    2)      Daylight hours only - strictly no night-time boating.

    3)      Must be launched and retrieved from public boat ramp. No beach launching.

    4)      Failure to comply within the vessel operational area limits WA Coast Boat hire reserves the right to lawful action and forfeit the security deposit.‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ ‍

    Fuel Policy‍ ‍

    1)      Vessels are supplied with a full tank of fuel.

    2)      Must be refilled with Premium Unleaded Petrol (minimum 98 octane). If not returned full, WA Coast Boat Hire will refill at $2.80 per litre.

    3)      For ramp deliveries, fuel costs will be deducted from your deposit with receipt provided.

    Cleaning Policy

    1)      The vessel must be thoroughly cleaned inside, with all rubbish removed (including bait).

    2)      Floors must be washed down while still in the water using onboard deck wash and cleaning equipment.

    3)      Failure to clean will incur a $50 cleaning fee.

    Payments

    1)      A 30% booking deposit is required at the time of booking to reserve your date and will be credited toward your total hire cost.

    2)      The balance is due the 48 hours prior to hire. Payments are accepted via online bank transfer.‍ ‍

    Security Deposit

    1)      A $2,000 Security Deposit is required for each hire period. Covers insurance excess for damage to the vessel or trailer. Must be paid on or before the day of hire.

    2)      Late return without prior arrangement incurs $50 per hour Fee.

    3)      Failure to return the vessel or make contact will result in Police action and forfeiture of the deposit.

    4)      Bank transfer deposit will be refunded within 3-5 business days if vessel is returned on time, full of fuel, and undamaged.

    5)      The security deposit is not the limit of the Hirer’s liability. If the cost of repair or loss exceeds the security deposit or insurance exclusions apply, the Hirer is liable for the full amount

    Cancellations

    1)      Cancellations require at least 14 days notice. In such cases, a full refund will be applied including deposit.

    2)      Cancellations up to 7 days of hire will result in a credit valid for 12 months from the original booking date.

    3)      Cancellations within 7 days of hire will result in loss of booking deposit (30%).‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍‍‍ ‍

    Liability

    1)      The Hirer is responsible for any damage, penalties, or breaches during the hire period.

    2)      The skipper must stay under the legal blood alcohol content (BAC) limit of 0.05 and not under the influence of illegal substances.

    3)      WA Coast Boat Hire reserves the right to recover costs for damage beyond the security deposit.

    4)      The Hirer must immediately report any mechanical fault, damage, steering issue, engine abnormality, or seaworthiness concern. The vessel must not be operated if unsafe. Insurance excludes damage caused by failure to take reasonable precautions

    The vessel is insured under Nautilus Marine Commercial Boat Insurance. The Hirer must comply with all policy requirements including geographic limits, operator requirements, safety equipment use, and prohibited activities.
    Breach of these requirements may void the Owner’s insurance. In such cases the Hirer is fully liable for all repair, replacement, liability, and associated costs.
